Find opportunities — and win them.

This new task order covers operations, maintenance and general tech refresh work on force protection systems and ground sensors.

General Dynamics has won a potential five-year, $580 million task order to continue its role in helping the Army operate a complex security technology system for protecting personnel and sites around the world.

The Integrated Base Defense and Force Protection Family of Systems order covers services such as training, contractor logistics, operations, sustainment and procurement of materials for equipment.

Work under the order will take place over one initial base year and up to four individual option years, the Army said Friday.

Like with the current iteration, Army officials awarded this recompete of IBD-SS via the large Responsive Strategic Sourcing for Services contract vehicle for technology-centric professional services.

General Dynamics holds the IBD-SS order and its place on RS3 through the company’s Global Force joint venture, comprised of the IT services, mission systems, ordnance and tactical systems, and land systems business units.

GD Global Force has been obligated roughly $289 million in delivery order volume to-date against the current order since its award in 2020, according to GovTribe data.

For the new iteration, the Army sought support for 12 force protection systems and ground sensors located in both the contiguous U.S. states and other locations.

The Global Force venture will also be responsible for functions related to systems sustainment, design engineering, supplier and asset visibility management, warehouse management, maintenance, transportation and systems fielding.
